Our Story

About American Legion Post 26

Chartered on August 7, 1919, Post 26 has served Bakersfield veterans and the surrounding community for more than 100 years.

For generations, Post 26 has been a place where veterans gather, families connect, and the community comes together to honor service, support local causes, and preserve patriotic traditions.

Post 26 has played an important role in Bakersfield's veteran community for over a century. The Post has supported veteran programs, local events, youth leadership opportunities, community gatherings, funeral escorts, food basket efforts, and patriotic ceremonies.

Today, Post 26 continues to support veterans, military families, youth programs, and the greater Bakersfield community.
